Butter Cake with Chocolate Chips

I had flu with extremely heavy head..yet, popped in medications and start baking for my 2nd son 5th birthday last night. A promise must be kept especially on his birthday. Iman had been talking on this Boboiboy cake since last year, where Adudu should be dead..how can I let him down just because of my flu..

I simply baked butter cake with chocolate chip, coated with chocolate ganache. And had a quick  touch on the figurines. At least the figurines had some resemblance of the Boboiboy character..Iman woke up in the morning and was so delighted on the cake I made..Phewww..meaning he did recognized the figurines..hehhehe..

For the recipe I used the same as HERE , simply added a cup of dark chocolate chips. And I also added a tspoon of butter flavour essence..simplest cake ever, yet never let anyone down..my fave cake!!

Happy birthday darling baby!! Mummy loves you so very too much!



I also packed Yuyu's macs and cookies and posted via Pos Laju..TQSM Yuyu for the trust..hope the macs are ok and safe.. :)

The bakes and cakes..

I thought it was going to be a bake free week last week..but I simply cant keep to my words and it was so hard to disappoint any request especially when it came to a dear friend :)

Lucky all the flour and such were ready available in stock and I am more than happy to change my mind set of laziness but to jump out and get in action.

Moist Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache. TQ Ita...and happy belated birthday Kak Ana..I am happy that you loved the cake..hehehehe..next order, i'd suggest a Devil Food Cake since you are a cheese fan!! I'll make sure of that!

Well..I have cookies & macs to be posted again to Yuyu in Terengganu..by early this week (as I promised)..and TQ my SIL..for helping on the cookies today...I'd get a free bake night tonight and catch on some reading on the new bought novel :) And I promised my 2nd son of a Boboiboy cake on Tuesday for his birthday..hehehe..we'll see how it'll go!

Apam with Strawberry Jam and Kaya Filling

The long weekend had ended and alhamdulillah I managed to get the house straightened up and more organized. Only few other minor things that still haven't been done.

And I personally feel awkward by not having anything for the kids to munch off. Initially, my eldest son requested for macaron. He'd been eating macs like having a pop corn..but I just couldn't start up baking them..instead I made something colour alike pop corn but more simpler..still with filling..

Apam Swirly (hehehehe purposely did make the dots, I swirled the colours), filled with strawberry jam and 'kaya'..


Recipe was extracted from Kak Azlita. I have been gawking her blog now and then..the photo was super and please dont compare with mine as I know how mine are ;) TQ Kak Azlita.

3 eggs biji telur sejuk dr peti ais
275 gm tepung gandum
220 gm gula halus
150 ml susu segar atau santan ( I used heavy cream since I dont have both)
3 sudu teh baking powder
1 sudu kecil ovalette
1 sudu teh paste vanila ( I used vanilla essence)
filling
blueberry / strawberry / kelapa / coklat / kaya - terpulang pada citarasa
Pewarna yg di sukai
Paper cup secukupnya
acuan lompang secukupnya (I used my mini tart moulds)

Masukkan semua bahan2an kecuali pewarna dan filling ke dalam mangkuk mixer dan pukul dengan kelajuan maksima 6-8 minit sampai kembang
Bahagikan adunan kepada beberapa bahagian dan titiskan pewarna.
Masukkan setiap warna ke dalam piping bag atau plastik bersih
Susun acuan lompang dalam loyang.
Letakkan papercup didalamnya
Picitkan adunan ke dalam mangkuk kertas
Letakkan filling secukupnya. Filling ni kita masukkan juga dalam piping bag supaya mudah kita nak Letakkan atas adunan tadi. 
Picit lagi adunan yang sama atau berlainan warna sehingga 3/4 penuh . 
Kemudian ambil sedikit adunan letakkan pewarna pilihan, kacau rata.
Masukkan juga dalam piping bag dan dot-dotkan dengan warna pilihan.
Panaskan kukusan. Balut tutup kukusan dengan kitchen towel supaya air kukusan tidak menitis atas apam.
Pastikan api sederhana panas.
Kukus apam tadi selama 10 - 15 minit atau sehingga masak sepenuhnya.

My note to share: 
- Please dont use high temperature as the 'apam' will crack. Medium will do.
- When opening the steamer cover, let it tilt on the side to avoid the steam-water drip on the 'apam'.
- Keep in air tight container for storage or the 'apam' will easily hardened.


On top of everything, though I purposely decided on bake-free days, one lucky box of macaron was still out to one lucky girl. TQ Kakak, this is what was left..more to come next week :)

Sour Cream with Chocolate Chips and the rest..

Last week I baked almost every night and the last bake was last night and tonight is bake FREE night!!! I am going to watch Dear John (againnnn..) while folding buckets of clothes ..hehehe..(always involve a multi-task)..

And sorry I could not upload all photos of bakes much earlier as I had NO time..yes, literally with NO time..my baby refused to sleeps early now and I only started baking at 10pm..which usually ended by 3 or 4 am. Did I dragged my self..NO, I eager waited for my baking time..the time I 'found' my self..hehehe..you dont think I am creepy am I? LOL..

Early of the week..6 boxes of macarons for my sis's friends..TQSSM adik-adik..and nice meeting Yam and Zue again..Yam, you want a chocolate cake..I'll give you special price!!


Then, on the following day a box of chocolate cookies and an oreo brownies which I posted via Poslaju to Terengganu for Yuyu..TQ Yuyu so..so..glad the goodies were ok and you liked it.. And Yuyu requested for more cookies..Ermmm..I may start posting around Malaysia in this case!!


Here, 40 pieces of macarons for Nisa in dark chocolate, peanut butter and caramel. So glad to see you Nisa..last we met was 1997..how long was that!! 

Azira, TQSM for the millionth times..you are my one and only loyal customer!! Moist chocolate cake with peanuts nibs on the edges & 20 pieces of dark chocolate macarons.



On Saturday, Kak Azah orderded Chocolate moist with chocolate ganache, topped with fondant for her son's 7th birthday. Aiman is a pianist (wow!! ) and the cake was in similar theme!! 

TQ Kak Azah, so glad you loved the cake!!!


And for today..

Sour Cream with chocolate cake, covered with chocolate ganache for Kak Hana (my cousin's wife). TQ..TQ..and I am happy they loved the cake which was gone not more than 2 hours!!!


Here, I am sharing the recipe for this delicious, moist cake which I had from All Recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened (I used Anchor)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 240 ml sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used 2 tsp)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (I used dark choc chips)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 8x8 inch square.
  • In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and chocolate chips. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add sour cream and mix well. Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes or until golden brown and springy on the top.
And here a Red Velvet cake for my neighbour Mr Chan..Happy Chinese New Year!!



And both macaron boxes were given to Kak Hana & Mr Chan..hehehe..noticed I only used red ribbons..not because it's the spirit of dragon..but I am totally out of ribbons and that's the only left..will surely get more ribbon in stock!!

Baking with love & passion ..

Not only in baking..but in everything you do, if it revolves love and passion..result would be extra ordinary and unexceptional.

My bakes and cakes were mainly for the weekend for last week. My ample time during weekdays with the kids were so much fun and such priceless moments for me.

Chocolate cake coated  with ganache from Hafiz as a gift for his GF. This cake was ordered last 2 weeks and he also request for the cake to be sent to his GF's in UPM Serdang. I hope they loves the cake and it was such a lovely thought for a guy to order a cake his loved one!! "Moga panjang jodoh ye dik".. How lucky for Shakila to receive such gift..poor me, no BF during the uni days to receive such attention..hehehe..

My First Macaron SOLD!!!

I am floating on the sky, again..as I still havent gone over my happiness for 'successfully' making these cutie-pies..ngeee...and although, my mac may be far from perfect, still..as I said before, people have long mastered this art of making this delicate macaron, and I've just started to begin. So I am sorry if anyone ever feel I've gone over-board..hehehe..I'll soon get over this with..soon..promise.

And I cant believe I did made another 2 batches last night due to an order from my dear friend for her friend's mom..how sweet is that!!

Here..my first ever macaron out..SOLD! Dark chocolate & caramel filling.

Rainbow Cake in Blue-White Aeroplane theme

I had fun making below cake..TQ Azlina hope you and Danish likes the cake! "Capt Danish is 1"..


The cake before coating with cream cheese..hehehe pretty smudgy..


Azlina also ordered a total of 50 pcs of Choc and RV cuppies topped with butter cream, also in Blue-White theme..

Try, try and try again..

The school had started yesterday and that means, a quite house and of course in/out of the house picking and sending the kids to school. Oh how i wish they were all schooling at the same place and at the same hour :)

I managed to sneak into the kitchen and again try making the macarons for the 4th times. I was caught by Kak Azah's mac the other day and how i realize, without trying again, i'd never ever meet the right method/technique. I know, people out there have long time ago mastered the art of making the macs..and here i am..jiggling-juggling here there. Well at least i tried.

I love mac!! It's delicate. If you say it's sweet, than it's too bad. They were meant to be sweet. How can you make a candy without sugar? And what really makes a mac really good is the filling!!!! All mac shell tasted almost the same, but if you manage to get the taste of a real good filling...there you go flying to the sky..yummmmmmyyyy!!

Here was my mac in the making last 2 nights. I used silicon silpat and silicon paper sheet. Both turned out good!! I left them in the room with air condition for drying..where i had a good laugh from hubby. I bangged it real hard on the stove to release the air gaps. And every step i took, i had Bismillah.. And I was screaming in the middle of the night, once the feet popped up..fuuhhh how silly am i..



And the result!!!! Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... Please disregard the un-even colours :) Very nice, filled with my dark chocolate ganache. I was going to make some caramel filling as well soon too!!!

Crispy outer, gooey inner..with nice pretty feet..I had these for breakfast and lunch yesterday!!



Well, I learnt through my failures..I met Farhanah . She is only 20 yrs old and still studying.. and me how old..hehehe.. From Farhanah, she did Italian method. Which I found too tricky. My mac will be using French method mainly fron Jill Colonna - Mad about Macarons book, easier but definitely shall yield same result!!

I am not hiding my failure under the closet..yet, I dont think any one would want to hear the storied of my despairs..I guess below picture shall speaks more without me telling a word..hehehe

Happy New Year !

Happy New Year all!!! Hope everyone have/had a new resolution, not just new - empty, but new with reflections form the previous 2011. We shall learn and grow from mistakes and that's hoe we gain success.

It was a good start for me. Last night with all the shouts out side and bangs of fire crackers, i was meticulously playing with fondant.

Victoria sandwich cake with strawberry jam wrapped with fondant. TQVVM Najwa, hope your family love them.. The cake design was driven by Najwa's hubby, a designer and I hope it came out as what they have imagined as.



The following was done and delivered yesterday. My last bake for 2011!! TQVMM Kak Marina, hope your kids enjoy both chocolate cake & the tart!!
